About Me
Author
Donovin O’Meara is an author and songwriter known for his prose and lyrical poetry. The voted “Kindle Select” title The Winter Collection recounts O’Meara’s experience through skillful poetic adaptation. He poeticizes his transition into early adulthood using three voices; The Elegist, The Oracle, and The Utopian. The transformation from one entity to the next alludes to O’Meara’s revolutionizing perspectives on love and healing.
Donovin O’Meara’s latest publication, I Like Your Name Because It Rhymes with the Moon, traces heartbreak through three emotional tides: First Tide—the almost was; Second Tide—the should have been; and Third Tide—the never will be. In a disconsolate wave of words, O’Meara demonstrates what it means to yearn for a home and be met with ruin.

Where the moon and water meet…
-
To feel love in his gravity: the way it pulls, recedes, and returns. To be changed by his absence, traced by the undertones of his silence, until my breath becomes void and my love becomes current. My eyes are the ocean, and his name is the moon.
The Winter Collection
A winter, a testament, that I put into 37,000 words. The Winter Collection is what has become my identity—my love and my loss, bled by similar blood. This is where pain meets poetry.

A Season of Winter Blog
A Season of Winter has become like the chronicles of my becoming. My blog is an archive of personal essays, lyrical prose, and intimate observations about things like identity, faith, and the quiet process of rebuilding.
I Like Your Name Because It Rhymes with the Moon
I Like Your Name Because It Rhymes with the Moon is a lyrical collection written about heartbreak in three forms—the almost was, the should have been, and the never will be. This is where love wanes to insanity.
